Summerlin's Newest Parks: Grand Park, The Hub, and Late-Summer Outdoor Fun

Modern community park in Summerlin at golden hour with play structures, trees, and desert mountain views

One of the joys of living in Summerlin is that this community keeps getting better. Even after decades of thoughtful development, new spaces are opening that make me fall in love with this area all over again. This past year has brought us two incredible new parks that are already becoming neighborhood favorites: Grand Park and The Hub Park.

With late summer temperatures starting to ease into the upper 90s and early September evenings cooling into the pleasant 70s, the timing is perfect to discover these new spots. Here is everything you need to know.

Grand Park: Summerlin's New 90-Acre Showpiece

Grand Park is the most ambitious park project Summerlin has seen in years, and the first phase — Council Park — opened in December 2025. At 21 acres, Council Park is already impressive: a sprawling playground that my kids beg to visit, baseball fields, lighted pickleball courts, a basketball court, fitness stations, shaded picnic areas, and a splash pad that is pure magic on warm late-summer afternoons. The whole Grand Park development spans 90 acres when complete, making it one of the largest community parks in the entire valley. Located in Summerlin West off Far Hills Avenue, it is a quick drive from the newer villages like The Paseos and The Ridges.

The Hub Park: A Pump Track and So Much More

If you have a child who loves bikes, scooters, or skateboards, The Hub Park in the 89138 ZIP code is about to become your new favorite destination. This 1.5-acre park opened in September 2025 and features a pump track — a looping series of rollers and berms that riders of all skill levels can flow through without pedaling. It also has a climbing play structure, a traditional playground, and a bike repair station. The pump track is the star of the show, though. I have watched kids as young as three and adults in their fifties take laps around it, each grinning just as wide. You will find it at 11511 Fleetwing Avenue, tucked into the northwest Summerlin neighborhoods.

Late-Summer Tips for Enjoying These Parks

August afternoons in Summerlin still hit the low 100s, but the good news is that September is right around the corner. Through the end of August, aim for early mornings before 10 AM or evenings after 6 PM for the most comfortable experience. Both Grand Park and The Hub are well-shaded, and Grand Park's splash pad is a lifesaver on warm afternoons. Bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and light layers — the dry desert air makes evenings cool off fast once the sun dips behind the Spring Mountains.

Why This Matters for Summerlin Residents

Summerlin prides itself on being a master-planned community where every detail is intentional. Parks are not just green space here — they are the living rooms of the neighborhood. Grand Park and The Hub continue that tradition, giving families, fitness enthusiasts, and neighbors new places to gather, play, and connect. If you have been thinking about exploring a new corner of Summerlin, these two parks are a wonderful place to start. Bring a chair, stay for sunset, and watch the community come alive.

“Grand Park and The Hub are the kind of spaces that remind me why Summerlin is such a special place to raise a family. Every new park is an invitation to slow down, connect, and enjoy this community we call home.”

If you are new to Summerlin or considering a move here, I would love to show you around these neighborhoods. There is a reason so many families choose to put down roots here, and new parks like these are just part of the story. Reach out anytime — I would be happy to help you find a home near Summerlin's best outdoor spaces.
