September 22 marks the first official day of autumn, and in Summerlin® that means one thing: pumpkin season has officially begun. Between Gilcrease Orchard's Fall Harvest, the pumpkin patch at Boca Park, the Halloween parades at Downtown Summerlin, and Tivoli Village's fall markets, there is a full month of family fun starting this very week. Here is where to go, what it costs, and how to beat the crowds, from a local who has done it all with her own kids.

Gilcrease Orchard: The Reigning Favorite

Gilcrease is the trip Summerlin families look forward to all year. This working u-pick farm sits about 10 to 15 minutes from Summerlin's northern villages at 7800 N. Tenaya Way (89131), and its Fall Harvest opens Saturday, September 26 and runs through Halloween. The pumpkin patch, corn maze, and hayrides operate Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission for 2026 is $4 plus fees on Tuesdays and Thursdays and $6 plus fees on Saturdays and Sundays, with children 5 and under free. Advance online tickets are required, and timed-entry slots sell out, so book before you go. Pumpkins go by the pound, running about 75 cents in past seasons, and you pay for what you pick. Bring a wagon and a plan.

Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch at Boca Park

If a full orchard feels like a long drive with little ones, Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch pops up right at Boca Park, 510 S. Rampart Blvd (89145), about a mile from Summerlin's eastern edge. It packs a surprising amount into a small space: pumpkin picking, rides, and games, all a short walk from Boca Park's restaurants, which makes it an easy evening out after the patch closes. Admission is $5, parking is free, and rides and games require additional tickets.

Downtown Summerlin Turns It Up in October

Downtown Summerlin (89135) hosts a month of free Halloween happenings. The Parade of Mischief returns Friday, October 2 at 6:00 p.m. and marches every Friday and Saturday night through the month along Park Centre Drive, with themed floats (this year adds Wicked and Hocus Pocus favorites), more than 60 local youth performers, and plenty of free sidewalk viewing. Trick-or-treating arrives with Treat Street, Downtown Summerlin's annual costume candy hunt, traditionally held on Halloween evening with allergy-friendly teal pumpkin stops. Keep an eye on Downtown Summerlin's official events page for this year's date.

Tivoli Village: Markets, Music, and More

Over at Tivoli Village (440 S. Rampart Blvd, 89145), the season is stacked. The Makers & Music fall market runs Fridays, October 2 through 30, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Skellington Spooktacular lands on October 23 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Grab dinner first and make an evening of it.

“Pumpkin season in Summerlin is a whole month of small traditions: the wagon-load of pumpkins at Gilcrease, the first Parade of Mischief, and a town square full of costumed kids. It is the season that turns a neighborhood into a community.”

Fall is also a wonderful lens for house hunting in Summerlin. The villages light up, the trails cool down, and neighborhoods like The Trails, The Paseos, and Summerlin South show off their best side. As your Summerlin local, I love nothing more than showing families around this time of year. Search homes in Summerlin or see current Summerlin listings headed into the holidays, and if you are new to the area, send me a note and I will help you find a home close to all of it.
