Fall Golf in Summerlin: Where Locals Play and What to Know
There's a reason locals call fall the best season to golf in Summerlin. The summer heat breaks, the fairways green back up, and late-afternoon light turns the Red Rock escarpment gold behind the greens. The catch: many of the famous courses people hear about are private. Here is my honest guide to where you can actually tee it up.
TPC Summerlin: The Private Icon
TPC Summerlin (1700 Village Center Circle, 89134) sits in The Hills and hosted the Shriners Children's Open for 42 years, the longest-running tour stop Las Vegas ever had, until the PGA Tour ended it after the 2024 season. It remains a private TPC Network club, members and guests only, though some online listings still call it public. If you know a member, take the invitation; otherwise, enjoy the views from the street.
Angel Park: Summerlin's Public Powerhouse
Angel Park Golf Club (100 S. Rampart Blvd, 89145) is where Summerlin golfers actually play. It's fully public: two Arnold Palmer-designed 18s, the Palm and the Mountain, plus the Cloud Nine short course and a lighted driving range and putting course busy into the evening. Families love the night putting, beginners get a low-pressure start on Cloud Nine, and the whole complex sits at Summerlin's base. Weekend tee times go fast, so book online at Angel Park a few days ahead.
Siena: A Semi-Private Gem in Summerlin South
In the Siena village, Siena Golf Club (10575 Siena Monte Ave, 89135) is a par-72 Schmidt-Curley design that opened in 2000 and threads between Tuscan-style homes. It's semi-private with public tee times, and it's the course I point buyers toward in Summerlin South's gated communities. Book on the Siena Golf Club site and aim for a weekday morning.
The Arroyo at Red Rock Country Club
Red Rock Country Club is Summerlin's most exclusive private address, but one of its two Arnold Palmer designs is open to everyone. The Arroyo Course operates as The Arroyo Golf Club (2250 Red Springs Dr, 89135) with public tee times, while the Mountain Course stays members-only. Reserve a tee time and you get a taste of the lifestyle, with Red Rock rising behind the fairways.
Sun City's Courses Welcome the Public
North of the 215, inside the age-qualified Sun City Summerlin community, two more courses take public play. Palm Valley Golf Club (9201 Del Webb Blvd, 89134) is an 18-hole Billy Casper and Greg Nash design with member-priority booking for residents, and Highland Falls (10201 Sun City Blvd) rounds out the trio. Both are known for value and well-kept greens, a big reason buyers in their 50s and 60s look at Sun City first. Find tee times through the Golf Summerlin group.
Practice Between Rounds
Back Nine Golf (1930 Village Center Circle, 89134) rents indoor simulator bays by the hour, a fun evening out when the wind picks up, and PGA TOUR Superstore (2315 Summa Dr, 89135) handles fittings and gear.
“The pros left Las Vegas, but the golf never did. Summerlin's best rounds are the ones you book yourself, on public fairways with Red Rock on the horizon.”
Three quick tips from a local: book online where you can, play twilight for the best light and price, and know that fall and winter are prime season, so the good weekend slots at Angel Park and Siena go fast. Golf is one of the lifestyle perks that makes Summerlin so appealing to families and retirees. If a fairway address sounds right, see current Summerlin listings on my search portal, or send me a note and I'll help you find a home closest to the game you love.
